Some Pictures of the Gorgeous Edinburgh
Here are some photos from Edinburgh. I havent had the chance to work on them properly so they are more tourist photos than showing off my photography prowess (??!). Seeing I have hardly seen daylight since getting here (as a result of far too many nights in the pub), I thought I would do some sightseeing today up at Carlton Hill.
Thank you for everyone's supportive words about giving up the tartan shop. I was so excited about the prospect of having a fun job to go to each day but I soon realised that I need more to occupy myself. Dont get me wrong, standing on your feet for nearly ten hours days is hard work, but it was far too long a day just to stand there and not do something productive. I think this week really showed me just how much I need law in my life. It keeps me challenged, and motivated. It always has.
I know I keep saying this, but I love Edinburgh. I love it. I love it so much that for the first time in a long while, I am content with the idea of staying here for a while. Its more than just the fact that it is a beautiful city. More importantly, I actually feel like I belong. Getting to know people around here is easy, and I cant believe just how quickly I have fit in with the local crowd. All of a sudden, I have a group of girls to hang out with, my pub friends who I make sure I drop in and say hello to each day, and I am also lucky enough to be meeting a few young lads as well!! While I am drinking and partying probably more than I should, it is fun to actually for once sit somewhere with a group of friends, and feel relaxed, without a care in the world. Everyone is here for the same reasons - to work to live, rather than the other way around.
I have all of this as a result of one person - Carla. Carla is from Sydney and I met her within hours of arriving in Edinburgh. Straight away, I was welcomed into a crowd of friends because of her. She really is a special person and I already know she is going to remain one of my best friends here. I also have Dell, a gorgeous black (incredibly gay) English guy from Cambridge, up here to break in to the acting scene of Edinburgh. He is wildly camp, but probably the most friendly, genuine person I have met. Then I have Carla's flatmates, Kara, Mel and Sam, who are all Aussies, plus there's Kane, the Canadian footballer, and also Emma and Andy, who work at my local pub, the Royal Mile. Its great to finally belong!
The photo above is a picture of Carla, doing Emma's hair, and Kane sitting in the background!
Love to all of you, and thanks for the support guys! Miss you Mama Dawgie, Dad and Annie.

Photos great, but a little dark! Been working on my Europe ones. I knew if I took 4500 photos in 5 weeks, that there'd have to be SOME decent ones amongst them!
Thought of you the other day, Kate: one of my coworkers, hailing originally from Scotland, gave me a coffee cup made in his hometown of Dunoon. I believe this is slightly North and East of Bute, West of Edinburgh? Anyway, thought of you whilst sipping my tea. Enjoy the sights, and am totally loving the photos, even unedited!
