This One Is For You Dad!
Yesterday, I received a wonderful surprise when I walked out my office building. The British Touring Car Champs were racing up Castle and Johnston Terrace as part of an exhibition for this weekend's round at Knockhill race course. Check out the photos, Dad! I got to meet Jason Plato and a couple of the others!
Grabbing the headlines was Scotland’s Gordon Shedden in his Team Halfords Honda Integra and who, under starter’s orders from Leslie Hinds, Lord Provost of Edinburgh was the first driver to take to Johnston Terrace to rapturous applause from the crowds.
Also in action were: Gareth Howell, Team Halfords Honda Integra; Colin Turkington and Robert Collard, Team RAC MG; Fabrizio Giovanardi, Vauxhall’s Astra Sport Hatch; Jason Plato, SEAT Leon; Mike Jordan, Team Eurotech Racing with John Guest Honda Integra; Dave Pinkney, Motorbase Performance Honda Integra; Martyn Bell, Geoff Steel Racing BMW 320i; Jason Hughes, Kartworld MG.
They were joined by cars from three of the BTCC’s support championships, including: Phil Quaife, Motorbase Porsche Carrera; Michael Meadows, Master Motorsport Formula BMW; Darren Turner, SEAT Cupra.
