What Is Wrong With These People?
This morning, I wandered down to my Starbucks coffee house, ordered my Grande Cappuccino and waited patiently. Once my Grande Cappuccino was called, I went to get it and someone else in the line who'd ordered after me came and took my Grande Cappuccino. I was about to curse under my breath but instead, I sat down and begun reading my Times newspaper. I then put my Grande Cappuccino issue in perspective.
....Five little girls were shot dead in an Amish community in Pennsylvania. Prior to that, more children were shot dead in a Colorado school. Before that, one person was shot dead in a Wisconsin school. A polish girl in Glasgow died a violent death and was buried under the floor boards of a Glasgow Church. A six year old sexually assualted and left in an alley way.....
Why am I constantly opening up my newspaper to read these things? What is wrong with the world these days? Why are we constantly having to grieve more senseless killings of young and innocent people? How long until I have to personally grieve over a senseless killing of my loved one?
I know that is a really horrible thought but am I naive to sit here in the comforts of my own little world and think that nothing like this is ever going to happen to me? Well, this Amish community have no television, no cars, and no real exposure to the modern world, yet they are now having to grieve for five young innocent lives taken execution style by someone completely unknown to them.
I'm not going to sit here on my soapbox and shout out what needs to be done in order to stop these horrific incidents. I dont know what needs to be done. All I wish for is that the human race would just press the "pause" button on trying to fix the "perceived" problems of the world, like "terrorism", and take a look at themselves - their principles, their beliefs, their reasons for existence.
I hate to say it, but while a car bomb went off in Kabul, killing five people, a white middle aged american male went into a school and aimed a gun at up to thirteen childrens' head.
The western world needs to look at its own backyard.

Here here!
Well said.
But do you know the real reason behind these awful crimes? It's word verification. Yes! You may say, 'fiddlesticks' to that theory but research carried out by Yale in March 2005 showed that having to fill in word verification boxes for each comment made on word verified blogs, led to an increasing build-up of stess, considered to be more damaging to the blogger, than the usual stresses involved with daily life and work.
Now you know.
Time to de-verify your blog.
Before the world totally goes mad!
You're a complete nutter, Maria. But I luv ya for it.
k
Naw!! She was just stalling 'cuz she didn't want to deal with Word Verification! :))
I do have the same anger, and fears you do though. I often wonder "What has become of us - the so-called Human Race?"
